Mt Nebo
Mt Nebo is where Moses saw the Promised Land. From here you can see the dead sea. We got there at a gorgeous time of day, just as the sun was beginning to go down.
It is also said that this is where Moses was buried. There was a church here built in the 4th century to commemorate the place of Moses' death.

This is the mosaic floor from the church, there is also a small museum next to the church
Look at the picture of the mosaic above, and the tent walls covering the floor. They are made out of Goat Hair, and this is what the Bedouins live in (tents made out of Goat Hair) Apparently they keep it nice and cool in the heat, and it was raining that day and the only wetness that was found inside was from tourists umbrellas ;) Cool!

The serpentine cross sculpture (the Brazen Serpent Monument)at the top of Mount Nebo was created by an Italian artist named Giovanni Fantoni. It's symbolic of the bronze serpent Moses created in the wilderness and the cross where Jesus was crucified

Water Closet anyone? I couldn't figure out why there were all these signs and things that said "WC"...I am still getting used to calling the bathroom the Water Closet ;)
We also made some friends with a french tour group of old people...old french people are so cute! They have their own style, and everything they say, even though I don't understand it, sounds so full of passion...and they are also really funny to watch bicker with each other...LOL
Olive trees

Olives like this taste TERRIBLE! (I am not stupid enough to try one fresh from the tree...but Justin was ! Just kidding Justin! ...He spit it right out!)
Before we left we ate at the WONDERFUL restaurant called Haret Jdouna. Saleh's brother was the head Chef there. The food was delish, but what really made the experience was the ambiance. It had been raining off and on all day and our feet were wet and we were cold. They put us right next to the fireplace...all the decor was authentic, we sat on low couches with pillows, and though the flash in the pictures makes it look bright, it was very dark with candles and hanging tin lamps. LOVED IT!!!

Beautifu cloud and sun picture--loved that.
I wonder how many goats it takes to make a tent! do they shear the goats like they do sheep or do they just wait for the hait to fall out? How do they get the bad goat smell out of it? those are just a FEW of my goat questions.
Love
